- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your telephone number
- Your parent/guardian's name and telephone number
- Your birthdate
- Your city and state of residence
- Name, city, and state of your high school
- Why you're participating in this competition
- Your current extracurricular activities, hobbies, and interests
- Tentative name of your business
- Your business idea/concept (min. one single spaced page)
- Describe why you've chosen to pursue this particular idea (min. half of a single spaced page):
- Your very long-term, grand vision plan for your business idea/concept. I want you to dream big here, but make it all believable to you. In other words,
for it to have any chance whatsoever to really happen, you need to TRULY believe it can/will happen.
For example: If your business idea is a local ice cream / refreshment truck business, and you really truly believe that you have the passion and
desire to turn it into a national franchise-based system, then by all means make this a part of your grand vision plan. The point of this section
is to get you thinking, and to give us a better idea of your long-term goals for your business idea (min. one single spaced page)
- Provide a quarterly plan for your business' first year of operation (min. one single spaced page that outlines your top three goals for each of the
first four quarters of your company's existence...so that's two goals x four quarters, for 8 goals total. Your goals for each quarter should be things
that are necessary for you to make significant progress towards your ultimate business goals.)
- Please describe at least four daily metrics that will help you keep track of your progress. A metric is simply some type of aspect of your activities
that you're measuring. For example, if you're starting a landscaping business, some metrics would be # of calls made, # of quotes given, # of lawns cut, #
of lawns fertilized, # of new accounts, etc.
- Please provide some sort of financial analysis (in min. half of a single spaced page, show us justified estimates of the amount of money necessary
to start the business, the money that can potentially be made, costs required to keep the business running, etc.)
- Please provide some sort of market analysis. In other words, who are your potential customers? How many are there? How about competitors? This is
where you need to define and quantify the potential opportunities/risks in your business' market (min. one single spaced page).
- Please provide a marketing plan. How are you going to spread the word about your business? You can also highlight potential PR opportunities
(min. one single spaced page).
- What sets your business apart from other businesses similar to yours, and other businesses in general? (min. one single spaced page)
- Describe why you think that you are most deserving of the grand prize (min. one single spaced page)
